In 2009,
we supported:
Hijas
de la Caridad de San Vicente de Paul (San Juan)
Provides care for 60 children and allows their mothers to go to work
and help the household with the income they make.
Comedor
los Pajaritos (Mendoza)
Feeds 100 children in an extremely deprived area and also provides children
with tutoring and help with school work as well as general support.
It gives training to mothers and older girls in the activities related
to the care of the children.
Comunidad
Huarpes de Guanacach, Lavalle Desert (Mendoza)
Provides food for families living in this Indigenous Reservation. This
year we also provided medical assistance, eye screening and glasses
for the children living in the community.
La Casa del Nino (Jujuy)
It provides food, clothing, school help, computer training and instruction
on how to grow vegetables. Also provides a scholarship for one gifted
student to attend a university. Additionally, parents and youngsters
make bread which is then sold in the neighboring areas. 80 children
attend this Center. It keeps them off the streets.
Centro
de Apoyo Familiar Sta. Clotilde (Pacheco, Provincia de Buenos
Aires)
Provides food, academic mentoring, and sports training to 350 children.
Funds will go to the construction and enhancement of the Center’s
premises in this after school program.
Fundacion
Cooperativa para la Nutricion Infantil “Conin Chaco” (Chaco)
Provides nutritional education to mothers, assistance, and medical exams
to malnourished children who are less than 3 years of age. Funds will
be used to expand the facilites and provide new medical equipment.
Jardin
Maternal de las Damas Rosadas (Beccar, Province of Buenos Aires)
Provides full time day care to babies from very poor families. More than
60 children attend this Center. Funds will be used to purchase equipment
for a newly built playroom.
Banco
de Alimentos (Cordoba, Province of Cordoba)
Provides milk for a 100 children on a daily basis. This is a Food Bank.

Leer
Promotes reading among under-privileged children. Funds
were used this year to buy books to distribute in rural areas.
Caminemos
Juntos (Tres Arroyos, Province of Buenos Aires)
Provides support to 27 disabled children and young adults. This day care
center needs improvements in the facilities, heating system, and basic
necessities.
Grupo
Encuentro (Bariloche, Province of Rio Negro)
Provides fund for improvements and a workshop center for this Day Care
facility for 90 teenagers that would otherwise be wandering in the
streets of Bariloche.
